2023 CONNECTICUT’S KID GOVERNOR ELISAVET MENDEZ TO VISIT CONNECTICUT LIBRARIES

(Hartford, Conn.) – 2023 Connecticut’s Kid Governor (CTKG) Elisavet “Ellie” Mendez will visit six libraries across the state to share her “Express and Address Your Feelings” platform as part of her Library Circuit.

CTKG Ellie will speak with fellow students and constituents about her platform to help young people identify signs of anxiety and depression, how to talk about feelings, and learn strategies that can help young people cope. She will also talk about her term as CTKG and share how other fifth graders can participate in the CTKG program. After the chat, kids can take part in a hands-on group activity. “Kid Governor Ellie and her Cabinet have been working hard on their platforms to empower kids to make a difference in our state,” said Brian Cofrancesco, Director of Kid Governor® at The Connecticut Democracy Center. “The Library Circuit is a unique opportunity for communities across the state to meet these student leaders in person and learn about their terms in office!”

Some of the visits will include appearances by members of the 2023 CTKG’s Cabinet, which includes six of the final candidates from the 2023 Statewide Election. The Cabinet meets monthly to advise CTKG Ellie and discuss supporting her campaign in their communities while developing their three-point platforms.
