Hartford, Conn. – 2021 Connecticut’s Kid Governor (CTKG) Reese Naughton will visit six libraries across the state to share her Be Positive: Pandemic Perseverance platform as part of her Library Circuit. CTKG Reese will speak with fellow students and her constituents about her platform and how they can support it, provide an overview of her term as CTKG, share information on how fifth graders can participate in the CTKG program, and lead an interactive activity.

Connecticut’s Kid Governor® is a national award-winning, statewide civics program created by The Connecticut Democracy Center at Connecticut’s Old State House. This ground-breaking approach to civics education immerses 5th-grade students in learning about state government, elections and voting, and civic participation through a real-life election for their state’s Kid Governor. Registration is now open for the 2021-22 program and 5th grade teachers can register their classes to participate and vote in this free program at CT.KidGovernor.org.

The Connecticut Democracy Center (CTDC) inspires people of all ages to engage in civic life and strengthen their communities. We envision a society where everyone is empowered to participate in our democracy. Learn more about CTDC and its programs at www.ctdemocracycenter.org. .
